The Ministry of Economy and Finance held a meeting with a Japanese delegation led by the State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Ryosuke Kozuki.

The results of the cooperation were discussed at the meeting. The steady positive dynamics of developing and enhancing practical cooperation between the public sectors and business circles of the two countries was noted, and the effectiveness of the Uzbekistan – Japan Business Forum with the participation of large Japanese corporations was emphasized, during which a solid package of documents was signed.

“Mutually beneficial strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan is essential. Successful experience of Japanese companies’ participation is necessary to develop your country’s industrial potential. It is noteworthy that Uzbekistan has the region’s largest and youngest human resources and is the engine of economic development in Central Asia”, said Mr. Ryosuke Kozuki.

The progress of preparations for the high-level event planned in April this year in Kazakhstan – the Summit of Heads of State in “Central Asia + Japan” format was discussed.

In addition, along with the importance of creating favorable conditions for stimulating investments by Japanese entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan’s private sector, the Ministry’s practical cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the professional development of civil servants, in particular assistant hokims, was emphasized.
