Uzbekistan has joined IOTA
Uzbekistan has joined the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA). This decision was announced at the organization’s 30th General Assembly in Budapest.
A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Tax Committee Chairman Farrukh Pulatov, is participating in the event. During a closed plenary session, the country’s application to join IOTA as an associate member was presented.
The head of the Tax Committee briefed the assembly participants on the outcomes of ongoing sector reforms.
The presentation focused on developing the digital administration ecosystem, implementing automated risk analysis tools, and adopting proactive tax calculation methods.
Uzbekistan was admitted to IOTA after a secret ballot.
Membership in the organization is anticipated to enable us to deepen collaboration with European tax authorities, more actively adopt advanced international practices in digitalization, risk management, and compliance, and share our expertise in digital service transformation.
Within the General Assembly, discussions include the use of artificial intelligence and behavioral analytics, the development of smart compliance tools, the enhancement of transparency in automated decisions, and the exploration of future tax administration models through 2030.
