Uzbekistan delegation at AIEA 2026

The prestigious annual conference of the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA) was held in Washington.

Representatives of the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation also attended the event, which is one of the leading platforms for bringing together global leaders in education.

The conference brought together university leaders, representatives of international offices, and educational organizations from around the world.

Within the framework of more than one hundred sessions and roundtable discussions, participants discussed the impact of geopolitical factors on academic mobility, the transformation of global cooperation models, and the development of universities’ strategic international positions.

Particular attention was paid to revising institutional strategies amid political and regulatory changes, fostering adaptive and entrepreneurial leadership in international education, and applying artificial intelligence to manage academic mobility, cooperation, and educational processes.

The El-Yurt Umidi Foundation's participation in the AIEA conference enabled it to strengthen international ties, exchange ideas with leading experts, and discuss prospects for expanding strategic partnerships with foreign universities. Following a meeting between the Foundation’s Executive Director Gulnoza Ismailova and the President of the Institute of International Education (IIE), Jason Czyz, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed. The document provides for the implementation of a joint educational project within the framework of the Fulbright scholarship program, as well as cooperation between universities in Uzbekistan and the United States.

Meetings were held with representatives of the State University of New York (SUNY), the Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC), PeopleCert, QS, IELTS USA, and TOEFL, during which opportunities to expand educational and professional prospects for the youth of Uzbekistan were discussed.

During negotiations with representatives of the Polytechnic University of Milan, the University of Maryland, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Illinois, issues related to training specialists in technical and mining fields, organizing training courses in cybersecurity, land resource management, aquaculture, agriculture, and irrigation, as well as opportunities for cooperation in the fields of medicine and urban planning, were considered.
