Uzbekistan and Russia strengthen industrial partnership: Results of the INNOPROM plenary session
As previously reported, the 6th International Industrial Exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia” is being held in Tashkent, with its key event being the main plenary session focused on the formation of new technological hubs and the industrial landscape of Eurasia.
The delegations at the session were led by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev and the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.
Opening the plenary session, Mr. Khodjayev outlined the key directions of Uzbekistan’s industrial policy, emphasizing cooperation and technological partnerships.
“We are interested in establishing joint production facilities for the deep processing of raw materials and the localization of import-substituting products. Reliable and affordable energy is becoming a key condition for industrial development. Uzbekistan is actively introducing solar and wind generation, modernizing infrastructure, and creating conditions for the placement of new production facilities”, he noted.
In turn, Denis Manturov emphasized that “INNOPROM. Central Asia” has become a regular and significant platform for industrial dialogue. He thanked Uzbek colleagues for their active participation in preparing and holding the exhibition and stated that, over the years, it has taken an increasingly important place on the agenda of economic and industrial partnership.
According to him, Russia views cooperation with the countries of the region as a strategic priority aimed at long-term, sustainable partnership and at enhancing the technological level of joint projects. “This format of cooperation fully meets the objective of stable and sovereign development of Central Asia and its industrial sector”, Denis Manturov concluded.
During the session, it was noted that Uzbekistan is consistently pursuing a path toward industrialization and technological modernization, moving from a raw-material model to the production of high-value-added goods. To date, more than 330 joint projects worth over $47 billion are being implemented with the countries of Central Asia and the Russian Federation, and the number of joint enterprises has reached 5,500. Uzbekistan’s readiness to combine efforts to enter third-country markets was also emphasized.
Following the plenary session, an official tour of the exhibition was held with the participation of Mr. Khodjayev and Mr. Manturov.
The Russian Federation’s stand featured a model of the National Center “Russia”, which will combine exhibition spaces, a concert hall, a media center, and a creative cluster. The project is scheduled for completion in 2029. Its area will exceed 200,000 square meters, allowing it to accommodate more than 20,000 guests simultaneously. It will host cultural, business, educational, and international events of significance not only for the country, but for the whole world. The building’s concept is bionic, and its form reflects natural landscapes, resembling a snow cover – soft, majestic, and calm.
The Republic of Bashkortostan presented a model of the “Bekabad” technopark, a joint project with Uzbekistan. The project is being implemented in partnership with Tashkent region, with commissioning scheduled for April 2027. The investment volume is estimated at approximately $100 million.
The state corporation Rosatom showcased a project for an integrated nuclear power plant with both large and small capacities for Uzbekistan. It envisages the creation of a plant with a capacity of 330 MW – six reactors, each 55 MW – and aims to ensure a sustainable, low-carbon energy supply.
It should be noted that the event will run until April 22 and will become one of the key platforms for developing industrial cooperation in the Eurasian region.
