Uzbekistan and Qatar strengthen investment cooperation
A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov, visited Qatar to attend the World Investment Forum and the regular meeting of the Uzbekistan – Qatar Intergovernmental Commission.
During the visit, the delegation held talks with government representatives and leading companies, focusing on opportunities to expand trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The parties discussed the possibilities of implementing joint initiatives in industry, energy, agriculture, transport infrastructure, and mineral resource development. Special attention was given to attracting Qatari investments for the development of New Tashkent, strengthening industrial cooperation, creating transport corridors, and launching infrastructure projects based on public-private partnership.
The participants also reviewed mechanisms to finance promising ideas, support women’s and youth entrepreneurship, and expand cooperation with international financial institutions. Further steps have been identified to develop investment proposals, strengthen business contacts, and ensure the practical implementation of the agreements.
The visit marked another step in developing an economic partnership and expanding opportunities to attract investment into priority sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy.
