A delegation led by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vakhabov, visited the cities of Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan.

On the first day of the visit to Karachi, the delegation met with the leadership of NLC (National Logistics Cell).

At the meeting, key issues aimed at expanding trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan were discussed. Special attention was given to the potential development of the Termez – Karachi transport corridor and the establishment of an NLC logistics port in Termez.

As part of the visit, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan also held meetings with the leadership and members of the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The parties emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral relations, which, despite their potential, have not yet reached a high level.

Representatives of Uzbekistan put forward several strategic initiatives to enhance mutual institutional cooperation. In particular, they proposed the revival of the joint business council led by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of both countries, including 15 entrepreneurs from each side engaged in the textile, leather and footwear, agro-industrial, construction, and logistics sectors. Additionally, it was suggested to hold the Uzbekistan – Pakistan Business Forum in Samarkand in February this year.

During the negotiations, it was noted that establishing a platform for regular business dialogue would facilitate stronger trade ties, the implementation of joint projects, and the expansion of trade volumes.

A delegation from Uzbekistan visited the Mega Leather Show 2025, an international exhibition held in Lahore, where they explored the achievements of Pakistan’s leather and footwear industry, modern leather processing technologies, and a wide range of finished products.

At a meeting with representatives of significant leather industry companies, Uzbekistan specialists presented information on the investment potential of Uzbekistan in this sector. It was noted that the availability of raw materials for production and the infrastructure for raw material processing significantly enhances Uzbekistan’s attractiveness for investment in the leather and footwear industry. The discussion also highlighted the incentives and benefits provided by the government in this sector.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize a visit of Pakistani company representatives to Uzbekistan.
