Uzbekistan and Japan’s educational cooperation reaches a new level
An international scientific conference titled “Addressing global challenges in an era of transformation: theoretical and practical issues of Japanese studies” was held at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
Along with domestic experts, top specialists, scholars, and researchers from Japan, Poland, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, and Mongolia participated in the event.
The conference was inaugurated by the Rector of TSUOS, Professor Gulchekhra Rikhsiyeva. A welcoming address was also delivered by Kenji Hirata, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan, who highlighted that cooperation between the two nations in education and science is of strategic significance.
The conference was centered around three main areas. The first focused on modern methods for teaching the Japanese language. Participants discussed the use of artificial intelligence, learning through video content, and new approaches to developing phonetic and grammatical skills.

Within the second area, issues concerning economics, history, society, and politics were analyzed.

The third section focused on issues related to linguistics, literature, and translation. Experts shared their views on the cultural elements of Japanese and Uzbek literature, the challenges of translating proverbs, and modern Japanese literature.

Following the conference, Vice-Rector of TSUOS, Professor Durbek Sayfullayev, emphasized that the main priorities are further developing international scientific cooperation, expanding joint research, and implementing innovative educational technologies.
