The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uzbekistan, Walid Fouque, made this proposal during a meeting with Samarkand region’s Hokim, Adiz Boboyev.
The Ambassador noted that the Alliance Française operating in Samarkand provides active support to residents, especially young people interested in the French language and culture. At the same time, the Ambassador asked the head of the region to assist in providing certain benefits for the use of the building where the organization is located.

Ambassador Walid Fouque highlighted the specialized school’s advanced French studies in Samarkand and expressed satisfaction that its teachers and students are closely collaborating with educational institutions and scientific organizations in France. He emphasized that if similar schools are established in other districts and cities of the region, the French side is ready to provide them with educational and methodological literature.
During the dialogue, proposals were made to develop interregional trade and economic ties and to increase direct investment. The parties also exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in personnel training.
Mr. Boboyev emphasized that favorable conditions have been created in Samarkand for foreign investors, and expressed his readiness to implement joint projects with French companies.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to establish mutually beneficial, long-term cooperation.
