Several events were held in Tashkent as part of the development of trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Egypt.

A bilateral meeting was held between the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and the Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation of Egypt Rania Al-Mashat. 

The Seventh Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was also organized. The cooperation issues between the two countries and the prospects for developing relations were considered in detail. Target areas for indicators of mutual trade, investment attraction, and industrial cooperation were established.

Last year, the trade volume between Uzbekistan and Egypt doubled, and this positive trend has been steadily maintained. There are 15 enterprises with Egyptian capital operating in Uzbekistan. Egyptian companies are implementing projects in food production, geological exploration, drinking water supply, and modernization of sewage systems in the regions of Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, the heads of relevant ministries, agencies, and industry associations presented reports on implementing existing agreements.

During the forum, the potential of regions and sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan, investment initiatives, and project proposals with high net added value in digital technologies, education, pharmaceutical production, food industry, agriculture, and tourism were presented.

The conference included B2B and B2G meetings, where issues of joint implementation of mutually beneficial projects and trade agreements were discussed.

Following the meeting, a protocol and bilateral agreements were signed.

Uzbekistan and Egypt: The Seventh Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a Business Forum take place
