Uzbekistan and China launch new projects

Within the framework of the 3rd Uzbekistan – China Interregional Forum, held in Xi'an, China, Chairman of the Tourism Committee A. Akkulov held talks with Vice President of Fei Jing Tourism, Wei Jie, General Director of Winner Hydrogen, Luo Tianshi, and Deputy General Director of Shaanxi Tourism Group, Zhao Yuewang.

The parties discussed the issues of attracting premium segment tourists from China to Uzbekistan and expanding the company’s activities in Uzbekistan’s tourism sector. Fei Jing Tourism expressed a desire to take over the management of hotels with at least 80 rooms and to attract Chinese brands in the 4- and 5-star categories.

Projects to expand tourist transport services were considered during the negotiations with Winner Hydrogen. Preliminary agreements have been reached to establish a comprehensive maintenance center for Yutong, Golden Dragon, and King Long buses, as well as other models supplied to Uzbekistan.

Issues related to increasing tourist flow from Shaanxi province and the joint development of theme parks and other tourism projects were discussed with Shaanxi Tourism Group. It was noted that the company has developed the Silk Road theme park, with a daily capacity of 40,000 tourists. It is planned to create such a park in Uzbekistan on the territory adjacent to the Samarkand Tourist Center.
