Uzbekistan Airports and Loong Air are considering launching flights between Xi’an and Fergana
A working meeting was held with a delegation from Loong Air, China, headed by Xiao Wei, General Manager of the Marketing Department.
The talks covered several areas of cooperation. In addition to discussing increased flight frequencies on existing routes, the parties focused on improving passenger services. The discussions included developing Fast Track services, expanding access to premium lounges, and implementing joint marketing initiatives with duty-free shop operators at Uzbekistan’s airports.
The main topic of the meeting was the launch of a new international route between Xi’an and Fergana. According to the participants in the talks, the route has strong commercial potential given the region’s characteristics. The Fergana Valley remains the country’s most densely populated region, with vibrant business activity, industry, and significant opportunities for tourism development.
According to the Commercial Department of Uzbekistan Airports, the number of enterprises with Chinese capital participation in the region has increased significantly in recent years. At the same time, the number of Chinese citizens traveling to the Fergana Valley for work and business is also growing. These developments are creating the conditions for a stable passenger flow capable of sustaining demand for the new air service.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue collaborating on the project to launch flights between Xi’an and Fergana. At the same time, efforts will continue to increase flight frequencies on existing routes connecting China with Tashkent and Samarkand.
