An IELTS Registration Center will open at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. The agreement was signed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the UWED Rector Sodiq Safoyev and Director of the British Council in Uzbekistan Denise Waddingham.

At the meeting, Mr. Safoyev drew attention to the great interest in Uzbekistan in learning English and the great opportunities for young people.

“In Uzbekistan, much attention is paid to studying foreign languages. In this regard, teaching English is one of the priorities, as it opens up great prospects for professional growth in various fields”, he noted.

In turn, Denise Waddingham expressed gratitude to the UWED leadership for supporting educational projects, including the British Council.

According to the signed agreement, UWED receives the status of a member of the IELTS Partnership Programme of the British Council. This includes training university staff and providing free digital resources for English learners, such as videos, podcasts, online courses, practice tests, and mobile apps.
