Umida Matyakubova has been appointed as the Head Coach of the Iranian women’s national kurash team

The Ministry of Sport and Youth of Iran has appointed a sports specialist from Uzbekistan as the Head Coach of the country’s women’s national kurash team.

The decision was reached after negotiations involving representatives from the International Kurash Association, the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan, and Iran’s Ministry of Sport and Youth.

Coach Umida Matyakubova will serve as the head of the Iranian women’s national team through the conclusion of the 2026 Asian Summer Games.
