The Xinjiang method is highly effective for cultivating cotton
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a cotton field in Guzar district, where Qashqadaryo Jingu is cultivating cotton using the Xinjiang method.
The Head of State was briefed on the technologies used for sowing, irrigation, and crop management. Cotton seeds have been sown in double rows under plastic film across 2,200 hectares, with irrigation carried out entirely through a drip irrigation system.

The plastic film helps retain moisture and heat in the soil, ensuring early and uniform emergence of cotton seedlings. The drip irrigation system delivers water and fertilizers directly to plant roots. As a result, water consumption is reduced by 30-40 percent and fertilizer use by nearly 30 percent. The crop matures 10-15 days earlier than in fields using traditional methods.
The President inspected the cotton crop and reviewed the organization of agricultural operations. While traditional cultivation methods yield 30-35 quintals of cotton per hectare, the Xinjiang technology can increase this figure to 60-70 quintals. The company’s fields produce 55 quintals per hectare, with total cotton production reaching 12,300 tons.

Agricultural drones are also used in field operations, helping accelerate certain farming activities and reduce fuel consumption.
The Qashqadaryo Jingu agricultural cluster, established with Chinese investment, operates across 18,300 hectares in Kasbi, Nishan, Guzar, Kukdala, and Mirishkor districts. A significant portion of this land was previously undeveloped desert and abandoned plots. $128 million has been invested in the project, creating 50 jobs. Exports amount to $8.5 million.

The Head of State was also briefed on ongoing agricultural activities in the region.
