President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Andijan region to get acquainted with construction and landscaping activities at places, the course of socio-economic reforms, major projects, as well as for holding dialogue with people.

As a result of ongoing reforms in the country and in Andijan, tangible results are achieved in development of agriculture, industry, construction, small business and private entrepreneurship, and social sphere. In January-March 2018, the growth rate of the gross regional product amounted 8.9 percent, industrial production grew by 3.6 percent, agriculture by 1.7 percent, construction – by 3.7 percent.

During his trip to the region on June 2-3, 2017, the President got acquainted with the course of socio-economic development of the region, gave recommendations and instructions on implementation of a number of prospective projects. Over the past period, significant work has been done in this direction.

Within the framework of the program of socio-economic development of the region this year it is planned to implement 448 projects worth 3.8 trillion sums and create 22 thousand jobs. Over the past period, 51 projects have been implemented and 3 869 new jobs were created through commissioning new facilities.

During the current trip, the Head of the state will become acquainted with the progress of implementation of projects aimed at further development of the region, fulfillment of previously given instructions.
