On the occasion of the Uzbek Language Day, a festive event was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Riyadh. The gathering was attended by compatriots living in Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan students studying at higher educational institutions of the country.

At the beginning of the event, the congratulatory message of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, addressed to the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the Uzbek Language Day, was read out. The speakers emphasized that Uzbek is the language of a nation with a rich heritage and culture. They also spoke about its significance in our lives, its stages of historical development, its place in modern society, and its growing international influence.

Participants exchanged views on the prospects for preserving and developing the native language, promoting it widely among the younger generation, and strengthening its status. The importance of increasing the number of scientific and literary works in Uzbek in Saudi Arabia and expanding translation efforts was also highlighted. Uzbekistan students recited poems dedicated to their native language.
