The United States and Uzbekistan strengthen their strategic partnership in the mining sector
Uzbekistan and the United States have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of critical minerals. This was reported by Reuters.
According to the publication, the Joint Investment Framework was signed by the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and Uzbekistan to develop strategic cooperation between the two countries.
The report notes that, within the framework of this agreement, priority attention will be given to investments across the entire critical minerals value chain, including geological exploration, extraction, and processing. In addition, the DFC plan proposes establishing a new U.S. – Uzbekistan investment holding company to implement future projects in mineral extraction and infrastructure development.
In an official statement, the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation emphasized that the agreement will “promote cooperation to advance shared economic interests and encourage joint investments in strategic sectors, including critical minerals, infrastructure, and energy”.
