The Tashkent International Marathon takes place
Tashkent hosted the 8th International Marathon, which was attended by about 15,000 people from more than 50 countries. The total prize fund is 300 million UZS.
The marathon has the status of a “World Athletics Label”, which ensures official recognition of its results at the international level.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Athletics Federation.
The marathon started at the Humo Arena Complex, and its route ran through the city’s central streets.
At the event, the participants competed in different age categories and training levels:
– 42 km (marathon)
– 21 km (half marathon)
– running for 10 km and 5 km
– 3 km (Nordic walking and mass run)
– 2 km (inclusive run)
– Kids Run.
Shokhrukh Davlatov (Uzbekistan), Andrey Petrov (Uzbekistan), and Vladislav Pryamov (Belarus) became the winners at the 42 km distance.
The Tashkent International Marathon promotes a healthy lifestyle, popularizes sports, and strengthens Uzbekistan’s sports image in the international arena.
