A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev and an expert of the Indian analytical center Vivekananda International Foundation Skand Ranjan Tayal.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issues of regional security were discussed during the conversation, including the development of the situation in Afghanistan and possible joint actions to resolve it.

The Indian side was informed about the measures taken by Uzbekistan to facilitate the launch of a peaceful political process and the transport and communication projects being implemented in Afghanistan.

Mr. Skand Ranjan Tayal especially emphasized Uzbekistan’s active participation in establishing long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan and restoring its socio-economic infrastructure.
