The security of biometric passports strengthens
The delegation of the Personalization Center of the Department of Migration and Personalization at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the head office of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal.
During the visit, digital certificates were refreshed to guarantee the security of Uzbekistan citizens’ biometric passports, including PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) and ICAO PKD (Public Key Directory). This process was fully compliant with the international ICAO Doc 9303 standard.
The updated certificates have been distributed to all participating states via the ICAO PKD system to ensure border services worldwide can verify the biometric passports of Uzbekistan citizens without issues.
The update aims to enhance data integrity in biometric passports and improve the safety of international travel.
The Republic of Uzbekistan, actively involved in the ICAO PKD system, will continue to enhance its electronic document infrastructure and foster international collaboration.
