
A government delegation led by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kohir Rasulzoda, arrived in Khorezm region.
A regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan was held in Khiva under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kohir Rasulzoda.
It was noted that in recent years, Uzbekistan – Tajikistan cooperation has reached a new level. Due to trusting relations and the political will of the presidents of the two countries, the allied relations between the states are strengthening in practical terms.
The meeting focused on implementing promising projects to further expand ties in trade, economics, investment, transport, energy, manufacturing, agriculture, and other fields.
As emphasized, the volume of mutual trade has doubled in the last five years. There are more than a hundred joint ventures, and this figure is increasing. At the same time, the trade turnover indicator does not fully correspond to the countries’ potential. There are many untapped opportunities.
The protocol of the twelfth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan was signed following the meeting.
The Prime Ministers of the two countries and the delegation members visited the Ichan Kala complex in Khiva. The Open-Air Museum, the best-preserved city in Central Asia, impressed the guests.
