On November 25, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan announced the detention of additional persons involved in the attempted murder of the former head of the Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Komil Allamjonov, which occurred on October 26 this year.
“During the investigative and operational search activities, it was established that seven people were involved in committing this crime. Five of them were remanded in custody, and two were put on the wanted list”, the Prosecutor General’s Office noted.
Among the defendants is the accused citizen of Uzbekistan, Javlon Yunusov, who was detained in South Korea and deported to his homeland.
The location of the wanted accused K.S. in the Republic of Kazakhstan, where he was hiding, was also established, and investigative actions were carried out with his participation.
Recently, some officials of Uzbekistan’s law enforcement agencies, including the Chairman of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan, were dismissed. According to UzA, these resignations were carried out as part of the case related to the attempted murder of Komil Allamjonov.
