The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan visit AI hackathon
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the nationwide artificial intelligence hackathon – “National AI Hackathon”, held at the universal sports complex in the city of Bukhara.
This event is being held as part of the ongoing policy to develop Uzbekistan’s artificial intelligence ecosystem, implemented at the initiative of the Head of State.

The leaders were presented with the results of ongoing work in digitalization and the implementation of AI technologies. In particular, key areas of digital transformation were demonstrated, including the Digital Government system and solutions in the transport, customs, tax, healthcare, social protection, energy, geology, construction, and agriculture sectors.

It was noted that the comprehensive digitalization of these sectors contributes to enhancing the efficiency of public administration and improving the quality of life for the population.

A presentation was also held on the ecosystem that supports and promotes startups in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The heads of state became familiar with the activities and interacted with representatives of promising startup projects such as KPI-COM, OSON, DATOX, and others.

Information was presented on the work of national and foreign accelerators, including UZUM, TBC Bank, Aloqa Bank, HUMO, and UZCARD.
The importance of developing venture infrastructure and supporting youth entrepreneurship was underscored.

Particular attention was paid to the banking sector’s achievements, including the development of digital banking and modern payment solutions.


During the open dialogue, the high level of youth engagement, their creative approach, and their commitment to the practical application of artificial intelligence were noted.


Following the visit, a joint commemorative photograph was taken of the Presidents with the hackathon participants and representatives of the startup community.
