On June 10, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov, who is in Uzbekistan to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

The distinguished guest conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to the Leader of Uzbekistan.

The current issues related to expanding and strengthening friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were discussed.

The jointly conducted fruitful work as part of the Year of Economic Cooperation was noted with satisfaction. Trade turnover is growing, and cooperation projects in various sectors of the economy are in an active phase, including those implemented with the support of the Joint Investment Company. Active cultural and humanitarian exchange continues.

The importance of continuing close practical cooperation at the government level was emphasized to monitor the implementation of agreements and to generate new initiatives for the upcoming high-level summit.

In this context, the necessity of ensuring high effectiveness of the planned next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Forum of Regions of the two countries was highlighted.
