
As part of the program of the Tashkent Investment Forum and the Foreign Investors Council, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation led by Nobumitsu Hayashi, Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).
The meeting focused on expanding practical cooperation and promoting joint projects involving this leading Japanese financial institution.
The contribution of JBIC to the development and modernization of key sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy was noted with satisfaction.
The portfolio of joint projects has reached nearly $4 billion, including in the petrochemical and textile industries, energy, information technology, infrastructure, and other sectors.
The importance of promptly preparing and promoting cooperation projects involving Japanese companies in green energy, IT, transport, and healthcare was emphasized, within the framework of a new three-year cooperation program.
The significance of taking practical steps toward establishing the International University of Japan in Uzbekistan was also noted.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached to adopt a comprehensive roadmap.
