The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has completed his working visit to Azerbaijan.

Yesterday, on November 12, the President of Uzbekistan addressed the plenary session of the Summit of World Leaders as part of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, putting forward important initiatives to overcome the consequences of climate change jointly.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Leader of Uzbekistan met with the President of the European Council Charles Michel, the President of Finland Alexander Stubb, the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović, the EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso, the Chairman of the IsDB Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, the ICESCO Director General Salim AlMalik, the Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund Mafalda Duarte and the former UK Prime Minister, Executive Chairman of the Institute for Global Change Tony Blair.

On the second day of the program, November 13, the President of Uzbekistan participated in the signing ceremony of the trilateral Strategic Partnership Agreement for the Development and Transfer of Green Energy between Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan.

A meeting was held with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, after which the heads of state launched a joint factory.

On the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference, meetings were held with the Prime Ministers of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala and Hellenic Republic Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Director General of the World Trade Organization Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the CEO and Chairperson of the Global Environment Facility Carlos Rodríguez.

The President of Uzbekistan also visited the National Pavilion of Uzbekistan at COP29.

Following the visit, the President of Uzbekistan departed for Tashkent. The Minister of Justice of Azerbaijan Farid Ahmadov and other officials saw off the President of Uzbekistan and his spouse at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
