The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, who is participating in the events of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

At the beginning of the meeting, Olzhas Bektenov conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the President of Uzbekistan.

Current issues related to the further development and strengthening of strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were discussed in the context of the agreements reached during high-level meetings.

The steady growth of trade turnover was noted with satisfaction. Projects are being successfully implemented in the automotive, electrical engineering, textile, metallurgical, pharmaceutical industries, as well as in construction and agriculture.

The importance of coordinated measures by the two countries’ governments to increase trade turnover and to develop a long-term industrial cooperation program in priority sectors, including at the regional level, was emphasized.
