
During a telephone conversation on June 29, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, family happiness, and well-being, as well as peace and prosperity for the brotherly people of Turkmenistan.
The President of Uzbekistan highlighted Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s contribution to the formation and sustainable development of modern Turkmenistan, the enhancement of the country’s international standing, and the strengthening of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
The National Leader of the Turkmen People conveyed the greetings of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, to the President of Uzbekistan.
Particular satisfaction was expressed regarding the unprecedentedly high level of bilateral cooperation achieved in recent years, primarily due to the regular meetings between the leaders of the two countries.
Close and productive interagency contacts are being maintained, while trade turnover and freight transportation volumes continue to grow. Important cooperative projects are being implemented, including the nearing completion of the “Shavat – Dashoguz” cross-border trade zone. An active cultural and humanitarian exchange is underway. Plans are in place to hold the next session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, the Interregional Forum, and the Business Council.
Current aspects of regional cooperation were also discussed, including preparations for the upcoming Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, scheduled to take place in Tashkent in September this year.
