As part of the ongoing program of his state visit to Azerbaijan, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the city of Fuzuli.
The distinguished guest was welcomed at the airport by the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Adil Karimli, and other senior officials.

The city is named after the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Muhammad Fuzuli. Located in the southwestern part of the country, it has historically been regarded as the “southern gateway” to Karabakh.
Since 2020, a large-scale reconstruction program has been underway in the Fuzuli district and the city of the same name. One of the key projects is the Fuzuli International Airport, which was commissioned in 2021. The city is also witnessing the construction of modern residential complexes, healthcare and educational institutions, and infrastructure facilities.

In August 2023, the leaders of the two countries inaugurated the modern Mirzo Ulugbek School in the city, built on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan as a symbol of the strong friendship between the brotherly peoples of the two nations.
