The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan receives the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia

On December 29, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Yousef Al Otaibi who is concluding his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.

The Head of State noted the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia’s fruitful activities and personal contribution to the development and strengthening of the comprehensive partnership between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia.

The established systematic dialogue and active contacts at various levels were noted with satisfaction. Trade turnover, direct investment, and the number of joint ventures are growing dynamically. The portfolio of joint projects with leading Saudi companies has exceeded $27 billion.

Projects and initiatives are being implemented in green energy, agriculture, healthcare, infrastructure development, and other priority areas.

Cultural and humanitarian exchange has intensified.

In October this year, the Days of Uzbek Culture were held successfully in Saudi Arabia. Uzbekistan participated in the Riyadh International Book Fair.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed his gratitude to the Government of Saudi Arabia for creating favorable conditions for Uzbek citizens to perform the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages.

Following the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan awarded Yousef Al Otaibi the Order of “Dustlik” (Friendship) for his significant contribution to strengthening the friendship and multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia.

The Ambassador expressed his deep gratitude to the Leader of Uzbekistan for his high appreciation of his diplomatic mission and thanked him for his comprehensive support for the development of full-scale cooperation between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia.
