The number of streets providing 24/7 services to the population is increasing
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the activities of a gastronomic tourism street organized on O’zbekiston Ovozi Street in Mirzo Ulugbek district.
Tourism is an important sector that creates numerous jobs with relatively low investment, increases incomes, and improves the appearance of regions. Tashkent has significant potential in this sector.
In particular, several projects are underway in the Mirzo Ulugbek district to fully utilize this potential.

The construction and landscaping works carried out on O’zbekiston Ovozi Street have become a practical embodiment of the special attention given to the development of tourism and the service sector in the country.
The project was implemented pursuant to the Presidential resolution “On additional measures to diversify domestic tourism services”, dated April 30, 2022.
The facility was commissioned in September 2025 after reconstruction. The project was developed by the Russian bureaus City Makers and Ludi Architects.

The total length of the street is 2.1 kilometers. Modern infrastructure has been installed here. In particular, wide pedestrian and bicycle paths have been laid, and comfortable conditions have been provided for residents and tourists.
The area features selfie photo zones, open sports grounds, bio-toilets, family recreation areas, eco-playgrounds for children, and a rope park.
While reviewing the street, the Head of State inspected houses renovated in a modern style, well-maintained streets, and the conditions for the population.

The total cost of the project is 40 billion UZS. 165 retail outlets are operating on the street. A total of 89 business entities have adopted round-the-clock operations. In addition, 2,221 new jobs have been created.
The President was also provided with information on the work underway on the city’s tourist and gastronomic streets.
As noted, 26 streets in the capital switched to round-the-clock operations in 2025. A total of 540 billion UZS was allocated for these purposes. As a result, 1,103 new trade and service facilities were created, 315 enterprises began operating 24/7, and 26 foreign brands established operations.

This has had a positive impact on economic indicators. The number of users of various services on the streets has increased from 80,000 to 200,000 per day, and 6,000 people have been employed.
Plans were reported to include organizing 18 additional tourist streets this year, launching 500 facilities, and creating up to 7,000 jobs.
The President gave specific instructions to the responsible officials to increase the number of gastronomic tourism streets in the Mirzo Ulugbek district, fully utilize existing opportunities, improve service quality, and implement new investment projects.
