Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov met with Deputy Director of the Central Asia Department of the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office Justin McKenzie.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects for further cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom.

Special attention was paid to the issues of intensifying political dialogue at high and senior levels, expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation, diversifying interaction in trade, economic, and investment spheres, and strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation, particularly in education.

In addition, mutual interest was expressed in holding at a high substantive level the next meeting of the Uzbek-British Council for Trade and Industry, which will take place on November 28-29 in London, as well as inter-MFA political consultations planned before the end of this year.

An agreement was reached to continue diplomatic contacts to discuss practical steps to implement the significant potential to expand interaction in the above areas.
