The history of relations between Uzbekistan and China goes back centuries. In addition to active economic cooperation, the two countries are closely cooperating in the scientific and cultural fields. All this became possible thanks to the Great Silk Road, which contributed to the development and expansion of ties.

During his working visit to Uzbekistan, Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, became familiar with the Center for Islamic Civilization’s activities, tasks, and exposition.

The distinguished guest reviewed with great interest the materials presented in the section on pre-Islamic civilization, devoted to the ancient civilizations of Bactria, Sogd, Khorezm, and Kushan, their scientific and cultural ties with China, and the history of the Silk Road.
