The long-awaited concert of a global legend in Samarkand
John Legend – a true global icon, one of the most influential musicians of our time, and a winner of all major awards in the music and entertainment industry (Grammy, Oscar, Tony, Emmy) – will perform in Samarkand.
John Roger Stephens, known professionally as John Legend, is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. He began his musical career by working behind the scenes, playing piano on Lauryn Hill’s “Everything Is Everything”, and making uncredited guest appearances on Jay-Z’s “Encore” and Alicia Keys’s “You Don’t Know My Name”. He then signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music and released his debut album Get Lifted (2004), which reached the top ten on the Billboard 200 and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
The performance by the Grammy, Oscar, Tony, and Emmy Award-winning artist will be held as part of a series of international cultural projects initiated by the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation. The performance continues a series of international cultural projects that are turning Uzbekistan into a hub for world-class events and cultural experiences.
John Legend’s concert will take place on 8 June 2026 at Registan Square in Samarkand.
