The Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and the Head of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Uzbekistan, Andrin Fink, discussed the development of IT education in Uzbekistan, the expansion of international cooperation, and the implementation of new projects.
At the initial stage of the project, the state of digital skills of the population will be analyzed, new professions will be identified that meet the needs of the market, and a platform will be developed that combines IT educational resources.
This is the subject of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Swiss Embassy in Uzbekistan, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, and the IT Education Association within the framework of the project “Digital Education Landscape in Uzbekistan: Connecting Stakeholders for Inclusive Growth”.
The project improves IT literacy among young people and provides professional development opportunities and employment for young people and women living in rural areas.
The project includes extensive research and refinement of adapted educational and specialist training programs, taking into account the needs of the developing industry.
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation has allocated a grant of 2 billion UZS to Uzbekistan for this purpose.
