The Korea Herald publishes an interview with the President of Uzbekistan
The Korea Herald, a leading publication in the Republic of Korea, has published an interview with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In the interview ahead of his state visit to the Republic of Korea, the President of Uzbekistan spoke about the current state and prospects of relations between Uzbekistan and Korea, as well as cooperation in high technology, investment, human capital, and regional partnership.
According to the Head of State, trade has increased fivefold in recent years and accumulated Korean investment has exceeded $8 billion. The two countries have more than 700 joint enterprises and projects.
The President identified artificial intelligence, critical materials and semiconductors, robotics, electric transport, biopharmaceuticals, modern chemistry, smart agriculture and intelligent cities among promising areas for future cooperation.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev called for moving beyond cooperation in individual sectors toward common production systems, technological platforms and new markets. This will enable both sides to make significant progress in their development.
The President of Uzbekistan also linked stronger bilateral ties to wider cooperation between Central Asia and the Republic of Korea. “Our strategic partnership is moving beyond the framework of bilateral interaction. We hope to reach breakthrough agreements on expanding investment cooperation”, he said.
