On January 7, 2020, Tashkent hosted the first meeting of the Joint Demarcation Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The parties noted the high level of bilateral relations, which are supported by a strategic partnership.

Normative-legal and technical documents that will serve as foundation for further demarcation of Uzbekistan – Tajikistan state border were approved at the meeting. Meetings’ schedule for 2020 was also agreed.

Negotiations were held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere.

Corresponding protocol was signed following the meeting.
