The first direct freight train between Belarus and Uzbekistan launched

According to the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on July 30, 2026, the first direct block train, Slavic Caravan, departed from Orsha-Vostochnaya station in the Republic of Belarus and arrived at Chuqursoy station in Uzbekistan. This event marked a significant step toward the development of transport-logistics cooperation between the two countries.

The new railway route will speed up export-import transportation, ensure prompt and reliable cargo delivery, and help increase mutual trade.

The cargo train consists of 71 standard wagons carrying products of the woodworking industry, sugar, foodstuffs, animal feed, and other cargo. At the first stage, trains are planned to run twice a month. Given the volume of cargo traffic, the possibility of increasing the number of routes is being considered in the future.

According to industry representatives, this route will not only increase freight traffic between the two countries but also improve the efficiency of international transport corridors, shorten delivery times, and reduce logistics costs. This will create more favorable conditions for exporters and importers and increase the competitiveness of foreign trade operations.

In addition, the new railway route will help expand the scope of international cargo transportation and make more efficient use of the potential of regional logistics centers.

The launch of the train is a significant step toward strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus, expanding economic and trade cooperation, and creating new transport opportunities across the Eurasian space.
