The film “Suyunchi” by renowned director Melis Abzalov was named “Best Film” at the 2025 Incheon International Folk Film Festival.

The festival, held in Incheon from June 26 to 28, featured films from 40 countries.

“Suyunchi” showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Uzbek people, their ancient traditions, and family values.

The jury recognized the film as “a work that skillfully combines folklore and contemporary cinematography, sincerely reflecting tolerance and the harmonious connection between generations”.

As part of the festival, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in South Korea organized an exhibition showcasing the country’s culture, history, traditions, art, and tourism potential, as well as its friendly relations with the host nation. The exhibition featured national costumes, jewelry, silk products, books, and educational materials.
