The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea visits Khiva
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan Won Do Yeon visited the ancient city of Khiva, known for its rich history and unique cultural heritage.
Deputy Hokim of Khorezm region Botir Saidov and Hokim of Khiva Temur Davletov welcomed the high-ranking guest.
The parties discussed developing relations between Uzbekistan and Korea and ways to expand cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian, tourism, and education sectors.
It was noted that Khiva has significant potential to strengthen friendly ties with the Republic of Korea and to implement new joint projects.
The Ambassador highly valued Khiva’s rich historical and cultural heritage, its tourism potential, and the large-scale transformations underway in the city. The parties discussed measures to deepen cooperation, expand experience exchange, and support promising initiatives.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in developing mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthening friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Korea, and expanding collaboration in areas related to Khiva’s development.
The guests also visited the newly built Congress Hall, Reception House, and Eternal City Complex. The delegation explored the facilities’ potential, the amenities available to tourists, and the modern infrastructure. Special attention was paid to projects designed to develop Khiva’s tourism potential and make it more attractive to foreign visitors.
During the visit, the delegation also learned about the activities of the Liaoning Normal University branch and the Confucius Institute.
The guests were briefed on the modern facilities at the educational institution, including lecture halls, a library, a gym, a cultural center, and other infrastructure designed for students.
