Teachings that promote peace, compassion, generosity, and goodness
Bukhara hosted an international academic dialogue focused on promoting peace, tolerance, and mutual understanding, inspired by the rich spiritual legacy of the Naqshbandi teachings.
The event gathered leading scholars, Islamic studies specialists, and researchers from Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Zambia, Egypt, the United States, Indonesia, Pakistan, and other nations.
Director of the Bahauddin Naqshband Research Center Azizkhoja Inoyatov, Rector of Bukhara State Technical University Sadoqat Siddiqova, and others addressed participants and shared their perspectives on the conference’s academic and spiritual significance.
The conference featured in-depth discussions on the role of the Naqshbandi teachings in Islamic spirituality, their importance in promoting peace and tolerance, spiritual and moral aspects in educating the younger generation, and potential to strengthen mutual understanding and harmony in society.
Studying the Naqshbandi teachings is not merely about understanding the past. Above all, it is an important educational endeavor that strengthens the spiritual resilience of today’s generation, protects young people from alien ideas, and fosters an atmosphere of tolerance and mutual respect.
It is no coincidence that in recent years Uzbekistan has paid particular attention to the in-depth study of the scholarly and spiritual heritage left by our great ancestors, its international promotion, and its transmission to the younger generation.
At the initiative of the Head of State, extensive work is underway in Uzbekistan to study Islamic civilization and the scholarly and spiritual heritage of our great thinkers, and to widely present their contributions to humanity’s development to the international community. Strengthening scientific and educational centers in ancient cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Tashkent, and Khiva is also a practical manifestation of this noble goal.
In particular, bringing Bukhara’s rich heritage associated with the Naqshbandi teachings to the international academic arena is increasingly important to Uzbekistan’s educational and cultural diplomacy. The gathering of scholars from around the world in Bukhara today is a logical continuation of these efforts.
