Starting from January 1, 2023, a Tax-free system was introduced in Uzbekistan, which provides for the refund of the amount of value-added tax when foreign citizens from entrepreneurs engaged in retail trade buy certain types of goods in the country.

The service center of Soliq Service SUE has started operating at Karshi International Airport, which is engaged in processing the refund of these funds.

The event was attended by persons responsible for the enterprise under the Tax Committee, employees of the regional tax administration, and Karshi International Airport.

The Tax-Free system is used at retail facilities in all regions of the country concerning goods included in the list in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the introduction of a value-added tax refund system for previously purchased goods when foreign citizens leave the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

To do this, a citizen of a foreign country must register in the Soliq mobile application and scan the fiscal receipts of cash registers provided for purchases.

The calculation of the amount using the Tax-Free system and the transfer of funds to a bank plastic card or a bank account of a citizen of a foreign state is carried out by the operator of Soliq Service SUE.

The amount Tax-Free is refunded to a foreign citizen after confirmation of his departure from the country on the 25th day of the following month after the purchase.
