On October 21-22, 2019, Tashkent hosted Dentistry of the South 2019. Representatives of 18 leading medical universities attended the competition.

The Minister of Health Alisher Shadmanov addressed the opening ceremony of the event. Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education Sarvarkhon Buzrukhonov, Rector of Tashkent State Dental Institute Jasur Rizayev and guests spoke about the importance of this international competition.

Teams of higher medical education institutions, consisting of five students enrolled in senior courses attended the competition. The competition was held in such areas as therapeutic dentistry, orthopedic dentistry, surgical dentistry, pediatric dentistry and orthodontics.

It should be noted that students of Tashkent State Dental Institute won 2 first places, 2 second places, 1 third place. Diyora Isanova from this higher education institution became an absolute champion. Kirov State Medical University and Kuban State Medical University scored the highest points in the team competition.

The competition also included presentations of medical institutions and conferences.
