
A concert was organized in Tashkent at the initiative of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan, marking February 2 – Azerbaijan Youth Day. The event brought together representatives of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Uzbekistan, figures from science and culture, diaspora members, the public, and students.
In his speech, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, Huseyn Guliyev, spoke about the significance of Azerbaijan Youth Day, which was established in 1997 by the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev. He noted that youth in both countries receive significant attention and support from the state. The Ambassador highlighted Azerbaijan’s achievements under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and emphasized the importance of educating the younger generation in the spirit of national values.

Rector of the State Academy of Choreography of Uzbekistan, Shukhrat Tokhtasimov, shared information on the development of cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, as well as joint projects with the Baku Choreography Academy. The Rector of the Uzbekistan National Institute of Musical Art named after Yunus Rajabi, Eldor Shermanov, highlighted the success of Azerbaijan’s youth policy and emphasized key initiatives being implemented in Uzbekistan, including the declaration of 2024 as the Year of Support for Youth and Business.

The artistic part of the event featured performances by the Azerbaijan Dance Ensemble under the Azerbaijan Cultural Center and the Uzbek State Dance Ensemble “Navbakhor”. A student of the Baku Choreography Academy, Aslana Aliyeva, performed national dances. At the same time, Uzbek singer Dilnoza Akbarova, along with Azerbaijani performers Vahid Aliyev and Fatima Iskanderova, delighted the audience with songs from both countries. Their performances were warmly received with applause.
