Samarkand – the cultural capital of the Islamic world
At the International Forum “The Spiritual Heritage and Cultural Expression of the Islamic World: Calligraphy, Music, Poetry and Solidarity” in Samarkand, a solemn ceremony was held to hand over a symbolic flag and statuette, marking the city’s designation as the cultural capital of the Islamic world.
ICESCO Director-General, Dr. Salim M. AlMalik presented the symbolic signs to Samarkand region’s Acting Hokim Adiz Boboyev.
