At the forum in Khiva, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova emphasized that interparliamentary dialogue is based on friendly and fraternal relations.
– Dialogue in this new format will give fresh impetus to deepening and comprehensive development of interparliamentary ties, – said Sahiba Gafarova. “I would like to stress that it is at the intersection of legislation, business, and the economy that issues vital to society arise, and addressing them is one of the most critical tasks facing parliaments.

Parliaments must contribute to the development of their respective countries.
Cooperation in lawmaking between the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan aims to expand the exchange of experience in drafting legislative initiatives and programs focused on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. It is essential to develop unified standards and recommendations for improving the investment climate, eliminating administrative barriers, and protecting the rights of entrepreneurs, as well as to implement joint economic and trade projects in agriculture, energy, and tourism.
It is essential to ensure the implementation of adopted legislative acts through parliamentary oversight, enhance their effectiveness, and address potential gaps in legal governance. Additionally, parliamentary working groups should be established to focus on pressing areas such as digital technologies, environmentally friendly production, and the development of small businesses.
Parliamentarians must create a legislative environment that stimulates entrepreneurial activity and supports dynamic business growth. I am confident that cooperation between the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will open new horizons for expanding investment, and that our joint efforts will be the key to the prosperity and development of our countries.
