Sadyr Japarov highly praised Uzbekistan’s role in strengthening peace in Central Asia

In the documentary film “President”, marking the fifth anniversary of his leadership of the country, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov emphasized the importance of Uzbekistan's diplomatic support in resolving the long-standing conflict along the Tajikistan – Kyrgyzstan border.

According to Sadyr Japarov, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev played an essential role as a mediator and guarantor of peace, consistently urging neighboring countries to resolve disputes exclusively through peaceful means. Thanks to the efforts of the Uzbek side, the parties to the conflict returned to constructive dialogue and reached agreements on the delimitation and demarcation of the border.

In March 2025, the Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, Sadyr Japarov and Emomali Rahmon, concluded long-standing negotiations and signed a document that ended periodic conflicts along more than 970 kilometers of their shared border.

Uzbekistan’s role was also evident at the trilateral level: at a meeting in Khujand, the leaders of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan concluded a historic agreement on the junction point of state borders, thereby laying the foundations for regional stability and security.

Experts emphasize that Uzbekistan’s active role in resolving border disputes positions the country as an important player in maintaining peace and stability in Central Asia, while Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s efforts strengthen the country’s international image as a reliable partner.
