Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, together with the country’s tourism companies, organized a national stand at the World Islamic Tourism and Trade Exhibition (WITEX), held in Selangor, Malaysia.
The exhibition was organized by the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents and the Selangor State Administration. It brought together more than 150 representatives of tourism companies and halal product manufacturers, as well as participants from over 20 foreign countries.
Attendees were informed about the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan’s tourism sector, the measures being taken for the accelerated development of pilgrimage tourism, and the creation of favorable conditions for pilgrims.
Guests were introduced to the historical and modern tourist centers, rich culture, unique architecture and art, as well as the national traditions of Bukhara, Samarkand, Khorezm regions and Tashkent.
At the national stand, the tourism company Assalam Travel actively promoted among the local population such travel programs as “pilgrimage tourism”, “historical and cultural tourism”, “gastronomic tourism”, “Umrah+”, “winter tourism”, and “business tourism” (MICE).
During B2B meetings between tour operators of the two countries, preliminary agreements were reached on increasing the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan and promoting tourism programs in the Malaysian market.
