A meeting took place between the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the UK, Ravshan Usmanov, and the country’s Special Envoy for Gender Equality, Mrs. Alicia Herbert OBE.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at empowering women, ensuring gender equality, and protecting motherhood and childhood. The British side highly appreciated the country’s efforts to increase women’s political, social, and economic activity.

Alicia Herbert expressed interest in providing financial and technical support to Uzbekistan to develop women’s potential, including higher education, mastering modern professions, technologies, foreign languages, and developing entrepreneurial skills.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue practical cooperation in the designated areas.
