Prospects for cooperation with South Korea's pharmaceutical clusters are under discussion
During the visit of representatives of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Korea, meetings were held with specialists from leading medical and pharmaceutical clusters – KBIO Health (Osong Advanced Medical Industry Promotion Foundation) and K-MEDI hub (Daegu Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation).
During the meetings, the agency’s representatives became familiar with clusters’ modern infrastructure and the activities of scientific research laboratories and innovative production sites.
The parties explored opportunities for collaboration between BioPharma City and Korean clusters, focusing on developing R&D infrastructure, organizing laboratories and vivariums efficiently, and expanding training and exchanges of specialists.
The parties also exchanged views on implementing joint research projects in areas such as mRNA vaccines, oncology, drug delivery systems, medicinal plants, and biologically active compounds. Special attention was given to technology transfer and to organizing training sessions and workshops.
An agreement was reached on implementing Korea’s best practices in Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries, implementing joint scientific programs, and developing long-term cooperation between BioPharma City and Korean clusters.
